It is no secret that Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday. It’s the best day of the year, and it is
immediately circled on every new calendar.
That’s why going to the store and spotting
Christmas decorations even before Halloween is
particularly appalling to me. Christmas Creep is a
real thing, and it seems like everyone is always in
a hurry to skip the wonderful month of November.
But you know better, fair reader. You know that
pound-for-pound, there may be no better month in
the year than the 11th one, and not just because it
features the best day of the year.
From a football perspective, it doesn’t get a whole
lot better than November.
The Texas high school football playoffs are about
to kick off, with 702 teams beginning a shot at one
of 12 UIL state championships, all culminating
with a four-day football festival at AT&T Stadium
And that doesn’t mention the college action, which
heats up as conference championships get decided
and contenders get separated from pretenders.
So next time you see Christmas Creep, ignore it.
November is worth cherishing.
